But if I can enter a proper formula, then if the fill color of C5 changes from orange to purple, all the cells who were orange would turn to purple, too. Formula logic for the cell: IF the input is equal to N5 THEN fill the cell with the fill color of O5. If someone could help me out to write the formula for above logic, I would greatly appreciate. Automatically fill increment cells with formula. Besides, you can use a formula to solve this autofill. Select a blank cell and type the starting number into it, and then in the cell below the starting number, type this formula =A1+11 (A1 is the starting number, and 11 is the interval, you can change them as you need). Snow Leopard’s Numbers application offers plenty of formatting options for the data in your spreadsheet. After you enter data into a cell, row, or column, you may need to format it before it appears correctly. Number formattingdetermines how a cell displays a number. For example you might want data to appear as a dollar amount, a percentage, or a date.

Fill

Characters and formatting rules, such as decimal places, commas, and dollar and percentage notation, are included in number formatting. So if your spreadsheet contains units of currency, such as dollars, format it as such. Then all you need to do is type the numbers, and the currency formatting is applied automatically.

To specify a number format, follow these steps:

1Click and drag your cursor over the cells, rows, or columns you want to format.

They appear selected.

Hi Patricia,

You can create series by providing a 'seed' interval and then Filling.

Fill In Cell Mac Numbers Apps

Enter 1 in the first cell, and 2 in the second cell. Then select the two cells. In the lower right corner of the selection there will be a little open circle called the Fill Handle. Drag the Fill Handle down the column to extend the series.

You'll get 1, 2, 3, 4, etc.

If you had seeded the series with 1, and 1.5, your Filled series would be 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, etc.
